Community Protocols- An Indispensable Approach & Novel Tool Towards Fast Tracking the SDGs in Africa

"Community Protocols" is an emerging terminology used in the subject of Sustainability which cuts across; Socioeconomic & Environmental perspective.

Adams MUSA-ZEKERI (@MuzekNigeria) from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria has been researching on the subject of Community Protocols and has been able to draft a blueprint which can serve as a novel roadmap for all stakeholders in development issues, matters & policies.

From the perspective of this author; every developing country that adopts "His Blueprint on Community Protocols" would blossom across the three (3) tiers of Sustainable Development.

MUSA-ZEKERI's point of view of Community Protocols would help created employment for millennia. It has also strongly taken cognisance of important conferences such as; The UN Conference on Environment & Development, UN Conference on International Trade of Endangered Species, Conference on Biological Diversity (CBD), The Nagoya Protocol on Access & Benefits Sharing, amongst others.

Taken into cognisance that most communities in African countries resisted development projects and this resulted in a complete failure in regards achieving the MDGs (2000-2015) due to some underestimated traditional and belief systems and ideologies of the typical African Person.

We are all advancing. Whilst we all embrace development; which is now apparent in Africa, we must take caution of "Unethical Consumption" which would lead to jeopardizing resources for the next generations.

In my home country; NIGERIA for instance - During the MDGs era, $1Billion was allocated per annum for the achievement of the MDGs but there is absolutely nothing to show.

Its really disheartening that the communities which aught to aid their voices in this regards are mute.

Several shortcomings have gone wrong and in other to start from the basis (which remains the best approach), we must refer back to "Community Protocols".

This is the only way by which African countries would be able to achieve the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs).
