Young sustainability leaders

NUS is putting together an online showcase of 40 young sustainability leaders and I'm writing to ask for your help in identifying amazing candidates.

It'll be a simple picture bank of these people, asking them:

  • What defining moment got them into the sustainability movement?
  • What do they do now?
  • What is their vision for a sustainable future? And what is the single biggest obstacle we have to overcome to reach it?

The main purpose of the exercise relates to first question. We suspect that most people's answer to question one will relate somehow to their experience of education - and we can use this information to try and create more of these interventions, encouraging more young people into sustainability through the formal and informal curriculum.

But beyond that - this is also a great way to showcase the amazing, youthful energy in the sustainability movement worldwide, and hopefully will create in great networking opportunities as well.

We need a fair and varied mix of people in order to reflect the broad church that is the sustainability movement. So, it would be good to have suggestions of both frontline activists, and those who are leading in the realms of technology and business for instance. Similarly - it would be good to get a blend of people with different focusses - economics, energy, food, gender equality, biodiversity, technology etc.

Please let me know if there's anyone in your professional and personal networks who are amazing that you think fit the bill?

NB: we are being generous and defining ‘young' as being aged 33 or younger.
